“Green Book”

Winterton Cinema Societies September presentation. Green Book won the Best Picture Oscar in 2018 and is the moving but comic story of a tour of the deep south by a black pianist Don Shirley in 1962 with his white chauffeur and bouncer Tony Lip. “The old man and the gun”

Winterton Cinema Societies October presentation. The Old Man and the Gun is Robert Redfords final outing after a brilliant career both in front and behind the camera. Based on the true story of a small time bank robber Forrest Tucker, who successfully led the “over the hill “gang in the 1970’s. Nominated for four Golden Globes, this was a surprise hit late in 2018 and was hailed by critics as a fitting tribute to end Redford’s career.
